Antique Carved India sandal wood Micro Mosaic Sewing Kit

Antique Sewing boxes,Antique Carved India sandal wood Micro Mosaic Sewing Kit. This gorgeous Sewing box is made from Sandal wood and dates from the 1840 period in India under British rule. Excellent original condition with a few small missing ivory inlays which is to be expected of a piece from this period. The front,top and sides along with the compartment covers are all hand carved with animals and scenes. The carving detail is very well done,obviously by a master carver. This antique sewing box from India measures 13 inches wide by nine inches deep and five inches high. The inside bottom is a tray that can be removed and the ivory pieces unscrew to hold needles and tread. Original key.

Antique French dome top painted Marriage Box, Antique 8 and one half inches deep and is 12 and one half inches wide and this marriage box measures 8 inches high at its curved center. Hand painted blue paint with flowers all original paint and lock. This fantastic box just came in from the estate of the famous Old Lyme Connecticut impressionist Artist Guy Wiggins.18th Century, circa 1760. French Marriage Box.
