Persian solid silver letter box c1900. This antique box is solid silver with a gold vermeil on its inside. The box measures 11 and one half inches wide by 7 and one half inches deep and 1 and three quarter inches high. Excellent original condition. Hallmarked on the bottom and inside of the lid. Weighs 1330 grams.

Antique Decorative brass and turquoise dresser box c1890. This very heavy solid turquoise box with decorative brass mounts measures 4 and one quarter inches wide by 3 and five eighths inches deep and 2 and one half inches high. The turquoise panels are each three eighths inches thick. This box weighs two pounds. The brass frame is decorated with a hand etched flower and leaf design. The quality of this box is so high we first thought it to be Tiffany but it is not signed.

Japanese Carved Boxwood incense box Round Kogo Meiji period

A fantastic small antique Japanese round kogo (incense box) with a low relief carved design on the entire piece depicting a grapevine with grapes. Signed on the base with a three character signature. The inner box reaches to almost the top of the cover. It would have taken a master wood craftsman to be able to have turned a single piece of wood on a lathe to create a top as tin as this one without breaking it. The entire top piece would have had to be carved ever so carefully because of the extra thin sides. If it cracked during the carving or while being turned out on the lathe it would have had to be completely remade. The attached base sits on a scrolled bottom with three raised legs. Measures two and one half inches in diameter by two and three sixteenth inches high. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Dates from the mid the late Meiji Period, circa 1880 to 1900. Early country French walnut wall pipe box c1800. This pipe rack or box has a dish carved face that lifts up to reveal the inside which originally held clay pipes. Measures 15 and one half inches high by seven inches wide and three and one half inches deep. Excellent deep carving detail. Dates to the first quarter of the 19th century.
