The containers have solid gold tops and cut glass bottoms. The comb,shoe horn and mirror are made from tortoise shell and the case is all leather with water silk interior.

"Antique English box" letter box,Antique English 18th century brass letter/storage box.This letter box measures 4 and one half inches wide by 3 and one half inches high, by 3 and one half inches deep. Hand cut design all around the box with a crown on the lid and a date of 1792. The feet have been resoldered over the years. Tin interior plating is intact. The original handle had a twist and ends with a rat tail

Antique Japanese incense box Kairakuen

Antique Japanese "incense box" ,Wonderful Japanese incense box depicting a cat. Measures 2 and one half inches by 1 and one half inches. Beautiful glaze. C1840. Part of the original paper numbered label inside. Kairakuen. Kairakuen was the kiln of the tenth lord of Takugawa, Jiho, in Kishu. C1827-1852. See catalogue The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts ( Japanese Incense boxes rediscovered) page 23. This was a collection given to the Museum by French stateaman Georges Clemenceau in 1959, considered to be the largest and finest of its kind in the world.
